The Man Behind The Art!
Welcome to the world that is Sketch Pad Design!
This adventure began when I started playing goalie for a local ball hockey team and like every goalie I wanted a painted mask. I was always artistic and thought "what the heck I can paint it" so I grabbed some good old 3M tape and a couple spray cans and got to work. Shortly after I started playing goal in ice hockey and needed to find a new bucket and I wanted to paint it too. With a little research and a cheep airbrush kit, I created my first mask. Since then it has flourished into better equipment a basement studio and of course more painting!!!
I also started designing laser cut steel signs during the completion of my CAD and Technical Illustration Diploma for family as gifts and as people saw them the word spread and I have been doing signs ranging from a small front door to a large ranch signs.

AIRBRUSHING FAQ
How much does it cost?
All paint jobs start at $500 (CAN) and can go up depending on detail wanted.
How long does it take?
It takes 4-5 weeks from when the mask gets in my hands. Timing can be faster it all depends on the final design.
What is the process?
Before any paint is put down there is design phase where you and I will talk about what you want on the mask. I ask for a $100 non-refundable design fee and if any specific material is needed (it is included in the overall price).
When a design is finalized I ask that as much of the padding inside be removed as possible. I do tape it all off to make sure the inside padding stays in top condition. Please include all hardware.
When I receive the mask I prep it for painting, and then I can start painting. When the paint job is complete, I then a high impact clear coat is applied to protect it.
Is there Warrenty?
I supply a 2 month warranty only if paint failure is caused through the paint process (only for new quality goalie masks, not Polycarbonate helmets) . If the issue is due to normal wear and tear or caused by high impact collision this is not covered.
Do you paint old gear?
Yes!! I do paint old helmets and kids helmets too. I will even fix up minor cracks and chips. I ask for a liability form to be signed before any work is done if the mask being painted doesn't fall into the certified mask painting category (listed below).
Are you certified/permission?
I am currently certified by CCM and have permission from Coveted. the reason for getting a certified painter is that if I paint your mask it will not void the factory warranty supplied.
CCM Goalie masks - 90 day warranty.
Coveted Goalie masks - 1-3 yrs warranty. (Dependant on build)
The safety stickers on the back plate if removed instantly voids all warranties on the mask. If the customers are wanting them removed for the purposes of painting, I ask the customer to remove them at their own risk.
STEEL LASER CUTTEING FAQ
How much does it cost?
The cost are determined on size and thickness of material.
How Long Does it Take?
when the design is sent to the cutter it can take upwards of a week or two. This is on a first come first serve bases
Do you Paint the Sign?
Yes!! I can paint the sign at an added cost.
What is the Process?
First we will discuss the design, size and material thickness and I will create an exact copy of what the sign will look like for approval.
When the design and material is approved it is then sent to the cutter and when I receive it I will clean up any imperfections and if required prep for painting. When painting I prime it first and then paint with the preferred color.
Is there Warrenty?
I do not supply any warranty on any steel cut products or paint applied.
